My Philosophy Statement
“I am never done learning nor will I ever be, I teach my students as they also teach me. I will give 110% in everything I do, and with using respect towards my students, hopefully, will earn the same form of respect from them. Respect is the basis for which I feel a good student and teacher relationship can be formed appropriately. I will motivate my students with involvement, compassion, deep thinking, and imagination through my actions and carefully thought out lessons and activities specifically for the students’ needs. Not only being careful to ensure that the students succeed but that they fully understand the content and will be able to carry it on into the rest of their learning and eventually connect their knowledge into the real world. The role of the student is to be engaged and always give their best effort, even if they don’t always comprehend what is being taught. As the facilitator of these students, I will also be sure to hold the students attention to the best of my ability by being prepared and positive. As a teacher I will take things from other more experienced teachers, and will also form my own successes. I will help each student reach their full potential, giving all an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of disabilities or labels they may carry. Additionally, I will accept each student for who they are and help mold them for who they will be some day. I will always remember that a student is a person too, each with their own story. A story that may be difficult or challenging sometimes to cope with, that can affect their learning. With that being said I will carry myself as both a professional and a compassionate, empathetic human being, careful to never cross the line of teacher to friend. I find myself continuing to learn from students every single day. I personally believe that there is no better place to learn than a positive environment in which the students feel safe. I teach to encourage and be the support that young minds need to dream, and ultimately achieve.”
